Travelling with a baby — car seat needed?
One-line answer: Bring your own approved restraint or request one in advance. A newborn normally needs a rear-facing infant carrier; the correct device depends on the child's size and the manufacturer's limits. Confirm availability, installation and any fee before payment.

The trip can pass through different jurisdictions, but there is no universal “strictest rule” that replaces each jurisdiction's own requirements. Confirm the rule for every leg and follow the more protective setup when in doubt.

Bringing your own seat
Welcome — Britax, Cybex, Maxi-Cosi, Joie, Doona all common. Doona (stroller-seat hybrid) is especially convenient for the brief HKZMB disembarkation.
What about during border inspection?
- Passenger movement at Shenzhen Bay, Huanggang and other checkpoints depends on the vehicle lane and officer instructions; keep the baby secured whenever travelling in the vehicle.
- HKZMB Bridge: passengers may need to use a passenger-clearance area. Carry or wheel the baby as directed, and follow port staff instructions about the vehicle and seat.
FAQ
Can I hold my baby on my lap?
No. Even for the shortest leg of the trip, lap-holding is illegal in HK and Mainland.
Do you have nursing facilities en route?
At Shenzhen Bay terminal building. Cars also stop briefly if needed. Newborns are best fed before departure.
Can the seat be installed in advance for inspection?
Yes — book the seat at least 24 h ahead and we install before pickup.
Is there extra cost?
First two child seats free; HKD 50 each for additional.
Are baby strollers OK to bring?
Absolutely. We carry the stroller in the boot. Folding strollers fit any vehicle; bigger pram fits Alphard / V-Class easily.
