Hong Kong Airport to Macau by HZMB Bus
To go from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) to Macau by bus, take a local bus to the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge (HZMB) Hong Kong Port, clear Hong Kong departure, then ride the HZMB shuttle bus across the bridge to the Macao Port. It is the cheapest road option and runs around the clock, but it involves two buses, two clearances and a final leg to your hotel.
Step by step
1. Airport → HZMB Hong Kong Port
After immigration, baggage and customs, go to the airport bus terminus. Route B4 was introduced by the Transport Department to link the airport with the HZMB Hong Kong Port; other routes and taxis also go there. The ride is short because the port is built on reclaimed land next to the airport.
Check the bus operator's current fare and timetable before you travel.
2. Clear Hong Kong departure
At the HZMB Hong Kong Port passenger clearance building, clear Hong Kong departure immigration. The Hong Kong Port operates 24 hours, according to Hong Kong Customs.
3. Buy the shuttle bus ticket and board
Buy the HZMB shuttle bus ticket at the counter in the port, at a machine, or online through the official shuttle bus channel. The shuttle runs to the Macao Port and to Zhuhai — make sure you board the Macau bus. Services run 24 hours, with lower frequency overnight.
4. Clear Macau arrival
At the Macao Port, clear Macau immigration and customs.
5. Macao Port → your hotel
From the Macao Port you can take a taxi, a public bus, or — for some resorts — a hotel shuttle. Check your hotel's current shuttle schedule before you arrive.

| Leg | Typical time |

Tips

- At weekends and holidays, the shuttle queue at the Hong Kong Port can be long.
- Strollers and large suitcases must be carried on and off each bus.
- Confirm your hotel's address in Chinese or Portuguese for the Macau taxi driver.
